Visionaries was a showcase to share any outlets of self expression. There were no limits, no themes, no guidelines.
The only rule was: Just be free.
This was hosted at an Airbnb to create a feeling of walking into the warmth of a home. There was no tiered main stage, so that people would feel like equals while they were leading, performing, or spectating.
This event & set up was entirely DIYed - our guests and their personal expertise were truly what made this vision a reality.
As a testament to the power of community-driven support, our dreamers took home a renewed sense of purpose, a curiosity to explore and further their creative outlets, and new pathways for connection.
More About Visionaries
What kind of work was featured?
The space cultivated people who danced, sang, read personal writings, displayed hand-crafted art, mixed live soundscaping, performed stand-up comedy, taught martial arts, led mindfulness workshops, and beyond.
It was limitless to the world of what 'creativity' could be.
How did Visionaries make an impact?
All vendor proceeds and donations were split amongst participating artists and a domestic violence support foundation.
With over 30 participating artists and 80 attendees, this event successfully drove a commitment to nurturing artistic passion.
The feedback received was overwhelmingly delightful that artists felt resparked & inspired to look inward, fueling them to pursue their inner child of creation again.
What inspired you to create Visionaries?
I found it heartbreaking to see people bury their love of things after the demands of jobs or self doubt makes them lose sight of what truly excites them.
Seeing people question the value of their passions, and eventually abandon them altogether, made me want to change that.
Visionaries was bloomed to bring out the inner child of those who have a love in something & anything, and to remind them that that piece of them matters.
I also wanted to bring awareness that regardless of anyone's background, everyone faces insecurities, fear, and paralyzation from societal norms - but that that's only human, and that we still have the power of pursuit of the things we love.
What does Visionaries want to become?
Visionaries is about fostering dreams.
And my dream is to bridge the gap —between people and their passions, and between people themselves—to create a world where creative expression is no longer sidelined but is amplified.
I want to build a sustainable safe space for any human to pursue any outlets of expression that speaks to them.
Visionaries hopes to become a special platform for support, resources, events, community engagement, and experiences that nurture all kinds of dreamers through empathy and depth of connection.
